Tonight I came home from work a little after 10pm. Most evenings I would expect “I” to be fast asleep.

But not tonight.

She scampered form her room to garner a big hug, and then proceeded to tell me that she was too busy to go to sleep because she is reading. I took her back to her room and was met with several issues of her National Geographic Kids spread out on her bead. “I” immediately sat back down on her bed and started making up stories for all the little animals in the pictures. Even as I write this post I can still hear her chattering away in her bedroom.

I love that “I” is enjoying reading so much – even if it means a tired and cranky little girl tomorrow morning.
